This oak framed property lies in a rural area standing in considerable grounds

The fire damage suffered as a result of a this damaged the oak framed roof structure roof thatch and the interior suffered severe water damage.

Considerable internal works including rewiring and new plumbing was needed together with restoration of the oak frame and roof covering.

Our appointment was made  to establish the extent of the damage and and liaise with  Building Control and Conservation Officers to enable a satisfactory restoration.

The works were subdivided into four elements comprising firstly the initial Emergency Works to clear the thatched roof including the erection of a fully enclosed scaffold to protect the building.

The third element was to provide a Listed Building application for the restoration works which involved liaison with the Conservation authorities.

The Restoration stage then proceeded this included reinstatement roof members and reinstatement using traditional methods.

The roof thatch was then reinstated followed by wattle and daub repairs to the outside.

The properties were fully rewired to current standards with similar reinstatement of plumbing and central heating.

The above then enabled the internal wall and floor repairs to proceed with final decoration occurring after both internally and externally.
